Techniques
To frame or not to frame. The answer rests primarily on
how best to suit the décor and to what extent budget
is a consideration.
Frames typically add dimension and therefore shadowing,
and the results are dramatic. Since frames are raised
from the panel surface, a gold leaf angled chamfer is
possible around the inner perimeter.
Framing also helps Honor Boards coordinate with other
woodworking details or architectural features which might
also have raised or ornate elements.
Honor Boards without frames
We are concerned that each and every Honor Board is
well designed, detailed and of the highest value. Therefore
we take great pride in our unframed models.
For example, a carved and gold leafed border is included
on all unframed Boards, lending an air of formality
and cohesiveness to the design and presentation.
